{Review} Diary of a Mummy Misfit

Wouldn’t this cover make a fabulous poster in a reading nook?

This diary-style novel by Amanda Egan will teach soon-to-be or young mothers one thing: just say “no.”

When you get to the point of your life when your child goes to school, there are school functions, your friends want you to plan parties, your family wants you to host holiays… then read this book. Because by 10% into it, you will know, you just need to tell them all “no.”

Main character Libby and her husband don’t come from money, but they are sending their son to a private school so that he gets a good education. Libby is then absorbed into the cooky world of parent meetings, school functions, etc. Libby tries to balance all of this along with her flamboyant friends and a new dog in the family.

It’s a fun read. But like I said, this book taught me that when I am finally at this point in my life, I am going to tell everyone no. That, plus keeping my sanity in tact, give me all the reasons I need to be fully enveloped in my career.

  1. So glad you enjoyed! Thanks for a great review. You could always join Mummy Misfit in the sequel – The Darker Side of Mummy Misfit. She still hasn’t quite learned to say no though!
