3 Great Contests for Writers

Here are some great contests for writers, artists or anyone with some creative ideas.

{1} Narrative Magazine is hosting a contest for writers/artists between the ages of 18 and 30 who want to submit their original stories, poetry, photo essays, short films, etc.

Submit by October 30 | Fee is $22 | Info here | First prize wins $1,500

 

{2} Writer’s Digest hosts a competition for those who have a lot to say, in not so many words. Their Short Story Competition winner will have created a wonderful story in less than 1,500 words.

Submit by November 15 | Fee is $20 | Info here | First prize wins $3,000

 

{3} Writer’s Weekly hosts an unusual contest for writers. Sign up now for their 24-hour short story contest. You must sign up for the contest first, then on January 12, 2013, they will announce the topic and you must submit your short story in the next 24 hours. Only 500 applicants will be accepted.
